In this episode of iCantCU, I discuss my trip to Las Vegas. I just returned from an exciting trip to Vegas, where I attended the Grow With Video Live conference. I have some great updates and stories to share with you!

First, a shoutout to Greg, a listener and Phillies fan, who’s made significant strides with the Phillies organization to provide real-time audio devices for visually impaired fans. Thanks to his efforts, those devices should be available soon, allowing blind fans like us to enjoy the games in real-time without the delay you’d experience with regular radios while at the ballpark.

I also had quite the adventure with my flights—traveling via Spirit Airlines. I can’t say enough about how helpful the Spirit employees were. The service I received from the boarding agents and flight attendants was first-class.

The conference itself was a goldmine of information and networking. I learned a lot about growing the channel and had the opportunity to meet many new people.

The highlight, though, was the new connections and insights I gained. From tips on using Instagram to grow the audience to new strategies for my YouTube content, I came back inspired. Despite minor hiccups with accessibility at the event and the airport, the overall experience was incredibly enriching.

I’m eager to apply my knowledge to the podcast and the channel. Expect some fresh content soon as I explore more ways to engage and expand the community.

White Canes Connect Podcast Episode 101

In episode 101, Lisa and I speak with Rabbi Lenny Sarko to discuss his pioneering work on the Braille Torah. Rabbi Sarko, who is visually impaired himself due to complications from diabetes, shares his unique journey of adapting the Torah into Braille to facilitate inclusive religious participation for the blind and visually impaired within the Jewish community.

The episode delves into Rabbi Sarko’s motivation, which stemmed from his fear of losing complete sight and realizing that no Hebrew Braille Torahs existed globally. This led him to innovate and create the first Braille Sefer Torah, overcoming significant technical challenges such as ensuring the durability of Braille on parchment and complying with the Torah’s stringent production standards.
